Claire received a BA Honours in Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan and an MDiv from Lutheran Theological Seminary in Saskatoon. She took classes from four seminaries and a Catholic Retreat Centre to earn the degree.
She has served with MCC for seven years in Asia - in Viet Nam, Thailand and the Philippines. Work in these countries was primarily in community development and English instruction. Claire served one year with MCC Canada in Winnipeg on an alcohol use and abuse research project. She served three years as organizer and manager of MCC thrift store in Lanigan. After earning her MDiv, she served on the pastoral team at Peace Mennonite Church in Saskatoon for 6 years and then co-pastored with her husband, Garth, at Fiske and Herschel Mennonite Churches for 9 years. Most recently, she has served as Executive Director at MCC Saskatchewan for 7.5 years.
Claire currently is serving as interim pastor at Grace Mennonite Church.
As Claire returns to congregational ministry, it reminds her of the aspects of ministry that is so life giving.
Claire is the mother of two adult children who are both married. Her and Garth’s life is also blessed with two grandchildren.
